European Ceramics is an established leader in natural stone flooring, wall, and surfacing products sourced from regions around the world. For their newest offering, Petra, a branded marble series with integrated textures and exclusive finishes, the brief was to create an identity that celebrated the character of the stone and referenced its region of origin.
Inspired by traditional marble extraction, the identity draws on the raw, monumental nature of quarrying. The Petra logo is a modern interpretation of a marble block, expressed as a simple cube that acts as a bold and timeless visual device.
The sample boxes, a key promotional tool for architects and designers, extend this idea further. Each box features a cube marble sample set within a quarry-like terrace, evoking the experience of extracting the stone itself and reinforcing the craftsmanship and heritage behind the material.
